Li Qi is selling vegetables via livestream
Selling vegetables via livestream has become a popular option for farmers in Lin'an district.
Li Qi, a "post-90s" young man from Lin’an, gave up his job as a Western cuisine chef to become a farmer in Qingliangfeng town.
With the recent ripening of seasonal fruits and vegetables, Li has increased his livestreaming sessions to three times a day. During these sessions, he taste-tests the produce for customers, explains the nutritional content and cooking methods of various vegetables, and answers questions from viewers.
From May to late July, the peak vegetable harvest season, Li can take up to 1,000 orders per day, with many vegetables sold out within an hour.
In addition to selling his own vegetables, he also helps nearby farmers increase their income by recommending their produce.
Qingliangfeng town boasts abundant vegetable industry resources and was recognized as an "Organic Vegetable Town".
In recent years, the town has supported farmers by providing technical training and matching production with sales, relying on technological development to broaden income channels.
