Hangzhou Bay Wetland becomes a bustling hub of activity as thousands of migratory birds have begun nesting and hatching their eggs as temperatures warm up. The park is in the stage of rearing chicks and fledglings currently.

With the arrival of newborn chicks, the number of summer migratory birds in this habitat is expected to double. Due to increasing conservation efforts, the ecological environment of Hangzhou Bay Wetland has significantly improved in recent years. Migratory birds have received better protection during the breeding season, leading to a notable increase in both species and population.

Hangzhou Bay Wetland has recorded 303 species of birds presently, including 62 species listed in the national key protected wildlife list and 21 species listed in the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species China threatened bird list.
