On May 9, Hangzhou released a new housing policy, announcing it will completely remove home purchase restrictions, meaning purchasing a home in Hangzhou will no longer require the review of eligibility.

The new policy clarifies that, Hangzhou is set to take seven measures to promote a stable and healthy housing market, including scientifically making plans on housing development, optimizing land supply of the housing market, removing home purchase restrictions, improving new home sales measures, strengthening support on home mortgages, optimizing the policy to apply for permanent resident status, and promoting the supply of high-quality housing.
