On April 28, the primary and middle school students in Hangzhou embarked on a three-day spring break, which was subsequently extended to merge with the May Day holiday, resulting in an extended eight-day vacation.

At Hangzhou International Airport, starting from 6:00, parents took their children with lug gages to queue up for check-in.

On the first day of the spring break, Hangzhou International Airport transported 140,000 passengers, with an increase of over 10 percent compared with last week. Beijing, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Xi’an and other tourist destinations were the most popular.

One mother from Hangzhou said that many primary school students in Hangzhou took the high-speed train from Hangzhou to Beijing last night, and almost every parent asked children to go to bed and get up early.

The relevant person in charge of Hangzhou International Airport said that group tourists had increased by 20 percent compared to last year.
