Zhejiang Cultural Tourism Market welcomes booming reservations during May Day holiday this year.

According to data from Meituan, Zhejiang reservations see growth of more than 240 percent. Hangzhou, Ningbo and Huzhou become top three destinations.

Cities featuring special food such as Taizhou are favored by tourists as reservations increases greatly there. The model of piecing holidays together (which is to say that the holiday can be extended through adjustment of days off) boosts long-distance trips at home and abroad.

Long-distance tourist destinations such as Yunnan, Guizhou and Xinjiang are very popular as usual. Hong Kong and Macao have an edge among top destinations for tourists.

For outbound trips, reservations towards Japan and Korea has increased so significantly that they overshadow those made for Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand.
