Hangzhou urged to cap rising prices in comsumption during May Day holiday

To avoid market's price soaring unreasonably during May Day holiday, Hangzhou Administration for Market Regulation has recently sent a warning that, business operators must observe price regulations and shall not charge highly or unreasonbly. Violators shall pay a price for their illegal behaviors.

Based on relevant laws, for business operators who violate the price regulations, their illegal gains are confiscated, and a fine of below 5,000 yuan is imposed. In case of price fraud, the maximum fine is 500,000 yuan. If the prices of goods and services increase quickly and excessively, in serious cases, a fine of 500,000-3,000,000 yuan is imposed.
