It is reported that, a large-scale facility with extremely weak magnetic field will be built in Binjiang District, Hangzhou, and features the first largest and strongest magnetic field-free space in the world, to provide an extremely weak magnetic environment and measurement instruments in fields like space detection, aerospace, and healthcare.

The large-scale facility will start construction at the end of this year. The construction of its main building will be expected to be completed by the end of 2026, and its commissioning will be finished in 2030.

Hangzhou is about to invest 68.75 billion yuan in building an international magnetic field-free sci-tech valley there to boost the development and application of two technologies including magnetic field-free medical treatment and quantum sensing.
