Some ten visitors from Rosa Luxemburg Stiftung were here in Hangzhou to promote the political dialogue and people-to-people exchange between Germany and China. Heinz Bierbaum, the chairperson of the Stiftung and the former president of the European Left Party, was one of them.

Our German friends visited Xiaogucheng Village, Dream Town, West Lake, and other scenic spots, submerging themselves in history, innovation, and nature. The city's achievements in the pilot demonstration area for common prosperity left marks on their hearts.

Xiaogucheng Village's development, blooming like the spring flowers on the highway, was sure an eyecatcher for the Stiftung. Exploring new community discussion mode, the energetic village embraces changes and the German visitors, showing them Hangzhou's rural revitalization and sustainable development.

To dig deeper, the Stiftung went to Qiansanzu Zhangshuxia Discussion Point, where community discussion was held, and experienced the village-level democratic discussion. Then, their journey continued with a roaming in the tea garden and a courtyard walking. Shared stalls set up by villagers near their own houses interested the visitors. Dried bamboo shoots, tea, and other agricultural products at stalls brought tranquility, and Song-style tea whisking and Jingshan tea culture added Chinese flavor.

After a wonderful countryside tour, the visitors headed to Dream Town in Hangzhou Future Sci-tech City. The Town's nine-year transformation from underdeveloped land to the sci-tech cluster was before them. They were informed that the Town boasted 3,042 corporate programs and 26,552 talents, of which 272 programs received financing of more than 1 million yuan. They were impressed by the talent cultivation mechanism, innovation resources, and innovation ecosystem, and they hoped the Town would provide a broader stage and more opportunities for youths at home and abroad.

Ending the trip, Heinz Bierbaum, the chairperson of the Stiftung, expressed his appreciation of Hangzhou's success with combining technology and sustainable development. He planned, along with the visit, to draw on this experience and enrich the political education connotation of the foundation, deepening the development dialogue with China. He also hoped that this visit would refresh the image of China, a flourishing nation, to Germany and Europe.
