The Intangible Cultural Heritage Museum in Suichang county, Lishui, Zhejiang province welcomed over 40 international students for a study tour on a folk activity called "banchun quannong", which refers to encouraging agrarian activities at the arrival of spring, on March 24.

As a traditional element of culture deeply rooted in Suichang's agricultural civilization, this spring welcoming activity was included in UNESCO's List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2016.

In the museum, the students shuttled through exhibition areas, exploring various intangible cultural heritages and marveling at the exquisite skills required for facial makeup, embroidery, black pottery, and more.

During the visit, the students watched videos and took lessons to learn about the folk activity. They showed keen interest in China's 24 solar terms and agricultural customs, actively participating in discussions with teachers.

The event also featured a Kunqu Opera performance played by 10 instruments, which is a popular folk instrumental performance in Suichang. The students were all enchanted by the charming music, giving a burst of applause at the end.

Furthermore, the students also participated in tie-dyeing, depicting scenes of spring plowing. Guided by instructors, they painted spring ox patterns on white cloth. After dyeing and drying, several beautiful tie-dyed cloths were produced.

The study tour provided the international students with an immersive experience of traditional Chinese culture, promoting Suichang's culture to the world.
