On March 26, Hangzhou rolled out a new policy to strengthen the support for street-stall economy, loosing the limits for setting up stalls outdoors.

The new policy that was implemented last year has achieved remarkable results. All over the city, 1,197 commercial areas of setting up stalls outdoors have been approved, and 2,441 outdoor cultural activities have obtained the approval, to form 50 municipal-level commercial streets for setting up stalls outdoors.

The new measures further relax the restriction. The policy optimizes the business declaration process to improve serving efficiency. The law enforcement department issues multiple exemption measures, and transformed fines into vocal warning. The street stalling area is greatly expanded, from few places in three urban areas to 97 key business districts and blocks throughout the city. In addition, Hangzhou also releases new policies to promote the development of night economy and provide merchants with promotion tips.
