Hangzhou has implemented more child-parent friendly measures to benefit families.
Since Mar 14, childcare service centers in Gongshu district have launched the "Nursling Childcare" service for infants and toddlers, providing day care services for infants aged 6-24 months at a charge of 4,000 yuan per month. These centers provide facilities such as baby cots, diaper tables, bath tables, bottle warmers, and breast milk refrigerators. Three experienced kindergarten teachers are supposed to guard up to 9 babies to ensure that every child is always under care.
In addition, many urban areas in Hangzhou have also launched "four-and-a-half schools" to cultivate children's interests with richer experiences to assist parents who are unable to pick up their children from school on time. Recently, with the help of the local community, the Jinnan Branch of the Lin'an District Youth Activity Center has opened 10 courses for children such as physical fitness, taekwondo, singing, bilingual reading, and science experiments.
Hangzhou is also striving to build child-friendly neighborhoods as places for children to learn, exercise, and have fun after school. In 2023, a total of 322 child-friendly spaces of various types opened to the public in the city, including child-friendly parks, child-friendly libraries, and child-friendly practice bases.
