The vision of empowering social workers with artificial intelligence was recently put into practice in Xihu district, Hangzhou, local media outlets reported.

The AI plus Social Work project aims to address the challenges faced by social workers at all levels by combining AI capabilities with knowledge databases and human experience. Through the autonomous learning and development of AI, it integrates the previously scattered work content into an organized and efficient workflow.

To enhance privacy, AI social workers can create two zones: private and public, based on user needs, and share information within the designated scope. When encountering difficult problems, users can simply ask the AI social worker through voice commands. Based on the learned database, the AI worker provides work suggestions, solutions, steps, and precautions for reference by social workers.

AI social workers greatly improve work efficiency, as they can spend more time visiting households, providing warmer and more intimate care and services to residents in their jurisdiction.
