Today is the Lantern Festival (元宵节 or Yuánxiāojié in pinyin) ,a Chinese holiday that traditionally marks the end of the Chinese New Year (Spring Festival) celebrations.  Chinese people celebrate this holiday by enjoying colored lantern displays， eating sweet rice balls called tangyuan, and solving lantern riddles. 

Lantern riddles are enigmatic phrases traditionally inscribed on lanterns showcased during the Chinese Lantern Festival spanning a history of hundreds of years. The answers of the traditional Lantern Festival riddles were from a word, a poem or a phrase and have been turned into various styles nowadays.
