On February 18, Zhejiang held the Centralized Commencement Activity for 2024 “Qianxiangwanyi” Major Projects. It involves 21 projects with a total investment of 67.78 billion yuan. Among them, Shuangpu Campus of Hangzhou Institute for Advanced Study, University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS) located in Shuangpu Town of Xihu District has a total investment of 5 billion yuan.

Established in 2019, Hangzhou Institute for Advanced Study is the largest secondary college run by the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS) outside Beijing, and is also one of the first batch of the provincial-level new-type research & development institutions in Zhejiang.

Shuangpu Campus of Hangzhou Institute for Advanced Study, UCAS, is close to Shuangpu Station of Metro Line 6, covering a total construction area of 55.46 square meters. At present, the postgraduate student apartment has started construction, and will be completed by September, 2027. After the completion, it will accommodate 3,000 full-time postgraduate students and 1,500 students for joint postgraduate studies, and implement the integrated development of science, education, and innovation.
