During this year's Spring Festival, Hangzhou will see the biggest tourism boom. It is expected that the number of tourists during the Spring Festival holiday will hit a record high this year, up 44 % year on year. Visitors to popular attractions will peak on the second and third days of the first lunar month.

It is estimated that tourists for short trips and near outings account for about 60% of the total. Tourists from inside the province are mainly from Shaoxing, Jiaxing, Jinhua, Ningbo and Huzhou. Tourists from outside the province mainly come from regions in the Yangtze River Delta. The proportion of tourists born in the 1980s and 1990s is close to 70%.

Outbound tourism may also grow. Hangzhou is expected to see a 190% increase year-on-year in inbound tourist arrivals. Hong Kong, China, Macau, China, Japan, Thailand, Singapore, and Malaysia are popular destinations.

In addition, Hangzhou Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television and Tourism has launched more than 270 activities dubbed Song-Flavor Spring Festival in Hangzhou, including the Spring Festival shopping festival, lantern fair, and intangible cultural heritage fair, etc. Local districts and counties also have launched more than 300 traditional cultural and folk activities during the Spring Festival.
