On January 31, at the ski jumping competition of the 14th National Winter Games Inner Mongolia 2024, Weng Yangning, a young player from Hangzhou, won the champion of the women’s normal hill individual event (youth group) with 160.7 points, which was the first gold medal of Zhejiang Delegation at the Winter Games.

Weng Yangning seized two champions at the National Championships held last year. At the Winter Youth Olympic Games Gangwon 2024, together with Tang Jiahong, Ren Haoran and Zheng Pengbo, she won the ski jumping mixed team event for Team China. Weng Yangning was the first ski jumping player of Zhejiang to participate in the Winter Youth Olympic Games.

After the event, Weng Yangning was satisfied with her performance, and hoped to take another gold medal for Zhejiang Team in the upcoming mixed team competition.

Ski jumping is an extremely challenging and enjoyable sport. Players need to quickly slide down from steep slopes and take off to complete high-difficulty movements in mountainous areas with a drop of over 100 meters.
