Yongfu Temple was established during the early years of the Xianhe era of the Eastern Jin Dynasty, founded by the eminent Indian monk Master Huili. It is said that while Master Huili was establishing Lingyin Temple, Yongfu Temple served as his retreat for meditation. Counting from its establishment, Yongfu Temple has a history of over 1,600 years.
