On January 12, Shangcheng District of Hangzhou organized an activity to put 100,000 fish fries into Qiantang River.

Winter is the best season for this gesture because fish fries tend to survive due to low temperature. Such fish fries involve silver carp and spotted silver carp. They can inhibit rapid growth of algae in water, to conduct the water purification, improve the ecological environment of the water body, and protect the biodiversity of Qiantang River.  

On the site, Shangcheng District, Xihu District, Binjiang District, Xiaoshan District, and Qiantang District signed the basin co-governance agreement, and all the districts are committed to jointly boost the ecological governance of Qiantang River Basin.
