2024 fortune praying kicks off at Hangzhou's Liuhe Pagoda

In the first ray of sunshine of 2024, a fortune praying activity kicked off at Liuhe Pagoda on Qiantang River. 

Liuhe Pagoda is a landmark building in Hangzhou. Built close to 1,000 years ago, it witnessed the vicissitude of such an old city. To local residents, it represents harmony and blessings. Having been held for 17 consecutive years, the praying activity usually ushers in several New Year celebrations. It is also an iconic philanthropic event for the West Lake Scenic Area. This year's praying continues to highlight the historical and cultural essence of the pagoda. 

A special program on the pagoda was also launched for experts in literature, history and arts to study it and exhibit its charm with poems, writings and academic works. 

The praying will be open until the last day of the upcoming seven-day Spring Festival holiday. Finishing three entertainment activities, visitors can take their ticket and exchange for a pagoda-theme stamps depicting seven visits of Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty to the Pagoda.
