Many consumers come to buy various colors of butterfly orchids at the greenhouse of Zhejiang Qimei Ecological Agriculture Company in Yuhang district of Hangzhou. According to Ding Fangfang, the person in charge of the company, the lifespan of butterfly orchids is as long as three months. Many consumers choose to purchase flowers in advance to prepare for the Chinese New Year, so the peak sales season for flowers comes about 20 days earlier than last year. New varieties cultivated by dyeing technology are also welcomed by consumers.
