Frontier inspection police provided services for inbound tourists.

Since December 1, 2023, China has implemented the unilateral visa-free policy for six countries including France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Spain, and Malaysia. In the first month of policy implementation, about 5,200 foreigners were exempted from visas to enter Hangzhou. In November, inbound tourists entering Hangzhou reached 3,400, increasing by more than 50% month-on-month.

With the approaching of New Year’s Day, the number of inbound and outbound tourists in Hangzhou will increase significantly. It is expected that, the number of such tourists will exceed 270,000 in December, seeing a growth of above 28% compared with that in November. In 2023, the total number of inbound and outbound tourists was more than 2,650,000, ranking the seventh in the country, six times as much as that in 2022.
