Hangzhou will start the construction of the second botanical garden at the end of this year. The botanical garden is located in Yuncheng (meaning cloud city) as the new center of Hangzhou, covering an area of about 7,000 mu. It focuses on the relocation protection of plants in East China, to build the comprehensive natural ecological park with an integration of plant introduction, scientific research, popular science, recreation, culture and garden life.
Why is the botanical garden located in Yuncheng region in the west of Hangzhou? Firstly, it boasts abundant landscape resources, water resources and fertile soil, meeting the requirements for the construction of the botanical garden. Secondly, it is near the Hangzhouxi Railway Station which provides the convenient transport conditions. What’s more, the scientific research and tourism & transport resources around Yuncheng bring opportunities to develop the botanical garden.
The second botanical garden in Hangzhou will enable residents to get closer to nature, and inject new vitality into urban development.
