The Qiantang Bay Wetland Park in Hangzhou witnessed the arrival of flocks of migratory birds on Nov 23, creating a spectacle as they settled in and prepared to spend the winter.

The gathering of migratory birds, traveling from north to south, serves as a testament to the healthy environment of the wetland. The Qiantang Bay wetland boasts rich biodiversity and clean water, providing an ideal habitat for the birds.

Walking through the wetland, the birds can be seen perched and resting, spreading their wings in the sky, and even occasionally leaving behind melodious and enchanting calls. It's a symphony of nature during this golden bird-watching season, where the graceful figures of migratory and resident birds contribute to a stunning ecological panorama.

Qiantang Bay, designated as a provincial-level wetland, is located at the estuary of the Qiantang River, serving as the core area of the ecological belt in the eastern part of Hangzhou. It is also a crucial stopover for the East Asia-Australasia flyway.

Statistics show that the wetland is home to 140 bird species from 16 orders and 49 families. Among them, 22 species are listed as nationally-protected wildlife, including three under first-level national protection and 19 under second-level national protection.
