Hangzhou takes lead in China's digital trade

On November 23, the Second Global Digital Trade Expo (GDTE) kicked off in Hangzhou, which boasts great landscape in digital trade.

Hangzhou is seizing the opportunity to conduct investment promotion at GDTE. Up to now, Hangzhou and exhibitors have signed 100 projects, with a total investment of over 120 billion yuan. Among them, there are 12 foreign-funded projects with a total investment of 1,075 million dollars.

Hangzhou Digital Trade Comprehensive Index was also released on that day. The data show that, Hangzhou obtains steady development in digital trade, with continuous growth in various indexes, ranking among the top in China. Notably, sectors like information technology outsourcing and knowledge process outsourcing showcase excellent performance. The output value of the cartoon & game industry is doubled. Medium-sized cross-border e-commerce enterprises are continuously expanding.

Sci-tech innovation is the main driving factor. The total import & export amount of offshore service outsourcing and cross-border e-commerce is among the top in the country. Hangzhou, along with Shanghai, has emerged as a leading hub for the game industry in China, while significant strides have been made in cross-border data flow security assessment. Some districts in Hangzhou, such as Binjiang, have significant advantages in digital delivery trade development, while Xiaoshan and Qiantang enjoy strength in the digital ordering trade.
