The closing ceremony of the Hangzhou Asian Games Village was held on the morning of Oct 11, local media outlets reported.
From its pre-opening on Sept 9 to the closing on Oct 11, the village operated smoothly for 33 consecutive days, making a significant contribution to the Asian Games.
Since opening its doors, the village has accommodated a total of 19,067 guests, including 12,664 athletes and accompanying officials, 3,334 technical officials, and 3,069 media personnel. The branch villages have hosted 6,782 people, including 4,921 athletes and accompanying officials, 1,080 technical officials, and 781 media representatives.
The complex provided all-round services, including accommodation, food, transportation, medical facilities, entertainment, and shopping. It also organized intelligent, cultural, and eco-friendly display and interactive activities, ensuring that guests could enjoy a convenient life, experience the benefits of technology, engage in cultural experiences, and get adequate rest.
During the event, the village received over 6,000 letters of commendation and thank you notes, with representatives from various delegations praising the village for being "the most beautiful, offering the best services, and providing the most outstanding experience."
On the same day, the mascot of the Asian Para Games Feifei made its appearance, marking the beginning of the transition of the Asian Games Media Village to the Asian Para Games Village.
The 4th Asian Para Games in Hangzhou are set to take place from Oct 22 to 28, with the official opening of the Asian Para Games Village scheduled for Oct 16.
