China swept the Men's and Women's 4x100m Relay golds, while the Olympic Council of Asia has provisionally suspended Saudi Arabia's long-distance runner Mohammed Yousef Al-Asiri from the Asiad, which was the first doping case of the Games.

HANGZHOU, Oct. 3 (Xinhua) -- Chinese sprinters once again showcased their prowess on Hangzhou Asian Games track on Tuesday, securing both Men's and Women's 4x100m Relay gold medals.

The Chinese quartet of Chen Guanfeng, Xie Zhenye, Yan Haibin and Chen Jiapeng achieved a season-best time of 38.29 seconds to win the Men's 4x100m Relay final. Japan secured silver, trailing by 0.15 seconds, while the bronze went to the Republic of Korea in 38.74.

"I'm really happy to win this gold medal in my hometown and I think this is taking over the legacy by this young generation," said the 30-year-old Xie, who won the Men's 100m title last Saturday.

"This is an exceptionally important Games for us, because now we have more confidence for the next year and for the future Games," he added.

In the Women's 4x100m event, Liang Xiaojing, Wei Yongli, Yuan Qiqi and Ge Manqi clocked a winning time of 43.39 seconds for China.

"There's still a gap with our peak performance, I believe we can further improve," said Ge, who also won the Women's 100m final on Saturday.

Thailand claimed second place in 44.32, with Malaysia rounding out the podium in 45.01.

China also snatched gold medals in the Men's Triple Jump and Men's Decathlon. Triple Jump Olympic silver medalist Zhu Yaming emerged victorious with a jump of 17.13m, and Sun Qihao secured the Decathlon win with 7,816 points.

Indonesian weightlifter Rahmat Erwin Abdullah, bronze medalist in the Men's 73kg at the Tokyo Olympic Games, clinched gold in the same event in Hangzhou. He lifted 158kg in the Snatch and 201kg in the Clean and Jerk for a total of 359kg. His result in the Clean and Jerk surpassed his own world record by one kilo.

Abdullah expressed his satisfaction, stating, "It's an absorbing contest as I expected," and mentioned that he truly enjoyed the competition process.

China dominated the day with 14 gold medals, with the biggest haul coming from Canoe Sprint, where they secured five golds on the final day of the discipline.

World champion Lin Wenjun retained her Women's Canoe Single 200m title, while Li Dongyin claimed victory in the Women's Kayak Single 500m. China also clinched gold in the Men's Kayak four 500m, Women's Kayak four 500m and Women's Canoe Double 200m.

Uzbekistan secured victory in the Men's Canoe Double 1000m, with a 6.195-second margin over runner-up Kazakhstan, while India took the third spot.

Chinese divers continued their dominance, with teenager Quan Hongchan and Wang Zongyuan securing gold in the Women's 10m Platform and Men's 3m Springboard respectively.

In the first doping case of the Games, the Olympic Council of Asia has provisionally suspended Saudi Arabia's long-distance runner Mohammed Yousef Al-Asiri from the Asiad, after he returned a positive test for the prohibited substance darbepoetin (dEPO).

China's medal count soared to 161 gold, 90 silver, and 46 bronze medals, maintaining an unassailable lead on top of the medal table. Japan sits second with 33 golds, followed by the Republic of Korea in third with 32. After 10 full competition days, 36 countries and regions have garnered at least one medal at the Hangzhou Asiad so far.
