Assem Orynbay and Eduard Yechshenko held off the mighty Kuwaiti pair of Abdullah Alrashidi and Eman Alshamaa to win the inaugural Skeet Mixed Team event.

The Kazakh duo opened up an early margin and although Kuwait rallied, the gap was too big, and they had to settle for silver.

"The medal means that we might have a chance of competing at the Olympic Games," said Orynbay. "We are very happy. We believe that we can get to the Olympic Games."

China and Qatar took the bronze medals.

Teenager Zukhra Irnazarova brought more joy for Kazakhstan by winning the 10m Running Target event. The 18-year-old was trailing after the slow stage but surpassed three shooters from the DPR Korea in the fast stage to grab gold with a Games record of 560 points. She also claimed a silver medal in the Women's 10m Running Target Team event.

Quang Huy Pham collected the first gold medal for Viet Nam in Hangzhou by winning the Men's 10m Air Pistol.
