At 14:00 on August 8, Qiantang Fast Road, the longest one in the east-west direction of Hangzhou, was open to traffic.
This fast road spans Yuhang District, Xihu District, Gongshu District, Shangcheng District and Qiantang District, with a total length of 48 km. There are no traffic lights. Citizens can spend about 50 minutes in driving across the fast road at the speed of 60 km/h.
As the central section of the fast road, Tianmushan Road Tunnel has the most significant improvement in commuting for residents. Hundreds of thousands of residents live in Xianlin, Yuhang, Zhongtai, Wuchang, etc. The fast road can shorten their time to get to the urban area.
The convenience of transport will also drive the development of industries along the line. There are many industries along the road, such as Wulin Business District with the annual sales amount of above 10 billion yuan, Xixi Valley owning Alibaba’s key enterprises like Sesame Credit, and Zhejiang University National Science Park.
