The highly anticipated smart Fuxing Asian Games bullet train, specially designed for the 19th Hangzhou Asian Games, was officially unveiled as it rolled off the production line in Changchun on July 21. This cutting-edge train is a versatile electric multiple unit (EMU) consisting of 8 carriages, including 4 self-propelled cars and 4 trailer cars, designed to achieve a speed of 350 kilometres per hour, with a spacious capacity of 578 passengers.
One of the train's remarkable features is its ability to automatically adjust the air pressure and temperature inside, significantly reducing discomforts like tinnitus caused by air pressure changes when the train passes through tunnels. To cater to the modern traveler, the train is equipped with a seamless 5G+WiFi network, providing connectivity throughout the entire journey. Moreover, the adoption of bionic design in the driving cars, along with lightweight construction and energy-saving technologies, enables the train to save approximately 1.8 GWh of electricity per year per train.
Ensuring inclusivity, the train includes barrier-free carriages with 900 mm wide doors, allowing smooth passage for wheelchairs between carriages, barrier-free toilets, and other accessible areas. For passengers with visual impairments, Braille signs are thoughtfully placed in exiting/entering areas, passenger zones, and even on function buttons and seat numbers, providing valuable assistance and guidance.
Following its production, the smart Asian Games bullet train will undergo pre-operational tests in Shanghai before making its debut in Hangzhou.
