The Urban Research Institute of Ocean Engine recently released the 2023 China Urban Nighttime Economy Development Report, and Jiaxing has been selected as one of the top 100 cities in China in terms of nighttime economy.

The prosperity index of the nighttime economy was based on Douyin check-in and life service consumption data. It comprehensively evaluated the vitality of a city's nighttime economy based on users' activity level, consumption power, and urban nighttime service supply from 6:00 pm to 2:00 am the following day.

Nanhu district and Tongxiang, a county-level city in Jiaxing, have been recognized as "Zhejiang nighttime economy model cities", and Jiashan county in Jiaxing has been recognized as a "Zhejiang nighttime economy characteristic city".

In recent years, Nanhu district has been focusing on the Nanhu Lake scenic area (a national 5A-level scenic spot) to enhance high-quality products and services for the nighttime economy, creating a new driver of the nighttime economy with the unique characteristics of Jiangnan water towns.

Tongxiang has created a series of nighttime landmarks such as Wuzhen Scenic Area, Wuzhen Ruyi Bridge Night Market, Wuzhen Theater Festival, Bohong Urban Study Room and Yadao Nighttime Economy Characteristic Block.

Jiashan county has created a nighttime landmark centered on the Xitang Scenic Area. It has also focused on creating multiple nighttime business districts and upgraded many nighttime tourist attractions such as Dayun Yunlan Bay, and Aficion Chocolate Town.
