To conquer the baking hot days, Didi, after listening to suggestions from drivers and passengers, decided to launch the "Cool Summer" program. During the three-month summer holiday, Didi offered RMB 500 million high-temperature subsidies to drivers so as to share travel cost with them, encourage drivers to set the air conditioner based on passengers' needs and improve the summer travel experience.

From now on till September 30, drivers who finish their orders within a specific area during the reward period and adjust the temperature inside the car according to passengers' needs can receive a "cool summer" subsidy in 300 cities nationwide. The subsidies vary with whether conditions in various cities, with the maximum being RMB 100. This program has been available in Beijing, Shanghai, Zhengzhou, Shenzhen, Wuhan, Qingdao, Jinan, Chongqing, Ningbo, Guiyang, Chengdu, Hangzhou, Fuzhou, and Haikou successively. What's more, Didi would initiate the acceleration card to reward or provide drivers with subsidies in rainy days or during traffic jams. 

Temperature inside the car for hail rides has been a nagging problem affecting drivers' or passengers' travel experience in summer for quite a long time. Surveys by Didi show that different passengers and drivers have different needs for the temperature inside the car: some prefer low temperature because they languish in hot weather while some, due to poor health or uncomfortable necks and shoulders, could not bear low temperature. Didi hoped that through high-temperature subsidies, drivers meet passengers’ demand for suitable air conditions inside the car and passengers understand drivers more, thus continuously improving driving services and enhancing user experience.
