Delegation from Italy visited Hangzhou

On June 25-27, delegation from Italy-China Link Association, City of Carpenedolo and City of Guidizzolo, Italy visited Hangzhou. Foreign Affairs Office of Hangzhou Municipal People's Government met the delegation, comparing notes on strengthening long-term friendly relationship between Hangzhou and Italy, and launching the cooperation under the framework of BRLC.

Jin Heng, Director of Foreign Affairs Office of Hangzhou Municipal People's Government, expressed warm welcome to the delegation, introducing three golden business cards of Hangzhou such as "Famous Historical & Cultural City, Innovative & Dynamic City and Ecological Civilization City ". With beautiful scenery and abundant food resources, Hangzhou will host the19th Asian Games in September this year. It is hoped that the delegation can tour around to feel the atmosphere of Hangzhou greeting guests from all over the world before the Asian Games. 

Maria Moreni, President of Italy-China Link Association, has been engaged in the friendly exchange between China and Italy for 11 years. She extended her gratitude to China and Hangzhou for their help to Italy during the COVID pandemic. The visiting delegation members included the mayors of two local cities in Italy, and the representatives from the commercial and cultural institutions. They unanimously looked forward to promoting the cooperation in tourism, culture & art, medical devices, modern agriculture and other fields, in order to gradually boost the implementation of practical cooperation projects.

At the conference, Mayor of Guidizzolo, Province of Mantua, Italy, applied to join BRLC, and signed the application letter on the site. Wanquan Association of the Province of Mantua introduced the Second Lotus Festival and Fourth Magnolia International Culture Festival to be held this year. Guo Weihong, Vice Chair, Hangzhou People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, attended the meeting.

During the stay in Hangzhou, the delegation visited the Tourism College of Zhejiang, Zhejiang Overseas Returnees Starups Campus, China National Tea Museum, China National Silk Museum, and Hangzhou City Planning Exhibition Hall, to comprehensively and deeply understand the urban economic and social development of Hangzhou, and tap on the potentials of exchanges and cooperation with Hangzhou in the future.
