"Dragon Horse Spirit", the unique large-scale mechanical artwork in the world, will make its debut in Hangzhou Wulin Square at 19:15-20:15 today. It is 18 m long and 5 m wide, with the weight of 50 tons, able to perform the consummate skills such as running, jumping, flaming, water spray, mist spitting, and roaring.

"Dragon Horse Spirit" is the gift that was prepared by French Government in 2013 with a purpose to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and France. China-France diplomatic relations were set up in 1964 (Chinese Year of the Dragon), and 2014 was Chinese Year of the Horse, hence here comes the name "Dragon Horse Spirit". It was jointly created by more than 100 Chinese and French artists and engineers, and was exhibited in France, Canada, UK, etc., attracting hundreds of thousands of audiences each time.

Its trip to Hangzhou is to celebrate the holding of Hangzhou Asian Games. The performance lasting 2 months will be made in Gongshu District where there are the most Asian Games venues.
