A few days ago, a county-level landscape area model--“the Song Dynasty Culture-featured Nanxi River” in Yantou-Fenglin Town of Yongjia was recognized as one of provincial models, as it was included in the list of the first batch of urban and rural landscape model areas for the year 2023, which was released by the Office of Zhejiang Provincial Special Working Group for the Urban and Rural Landscape Renovation.

The model landscape area is mainly composed of mountains as well as valleys, with a total area of about 1,269.95 hectares. The area boasts a convenient transportation, with the Zhuyong Expressway and Provincial Highway 41 providing external connections. The Nanxi River Station of the Hangzhou-Wenzhou High-speed Railway is about to open, and Yantou and Fenglin Towns will also be included in the province's one-hour high-speed rail traffic circle. It is planned to build the landscape area into an international tourism resort featuring profound culture, especially Song Dynaty’s landscape poetry, and idyllic scenary with mountais and water, such as the Nanxi River and the Peach Garden Scenic Spot.

According to the Implementing Measures for the Action of Urban and Rural Landscape Renovation in Zhejiang Province, the models of the urban landscape areas fall into three categories: those of urban new areas, traditional landscape areas, and characteristic industrial areas; the renovation will focus on the central urban areas of cities and counties, highlighting the construction of crucial places and areas. It is also stressed to promote the pilot construction of urban landscape areas models, and to create about 50 such models each year starting from 2022. Among the 50, about 20 will be selected and announced as urban landscape renovation examplars in the new era, which are as beautiful as the ancient prominent painting “Dewelling in the Fuchun Mountains” (which is located in Zhejiang Province) .

The county-level landscape renovation is centered on the development of beautiful county towns and rural areas, laying emphasis on the pilot construction of county-level landscape areas models. About 30 such models at the county level is to be built each year from 2022, and from the 30, about 10 in the new era, as beautiful as the ancient painting “Dewelling in the Fuchun Mountains”, will be selected as examplars.
