Four Zhejiang-produced films receive five nominations at Huabiao Awards

Four Zhejiang-produced film received a total of five nominations at the 18th and 19th Huabiao Awards, one of China's most prestigious film awards, on May 22.

A total of 56 shortlisted films and their creators will compete for the top Chinese film awards.

Patrolman Baoyin has been nominated for the 18th Huabiao Awards in the category of Outstanding Ethnic Minority-themed Film. The film showcases the spirit of perseverance of grassroots police officers in the Gobi Desert.

Song of Youth has been nominated for the 18th Huabiao Awards in the category of Outstanding Young Film Creation. Through the relationship between teachers and students, the film evokes a sense of nostalgia among teachers for their school days.

A Little Red Flower has been nominated for the 19th Huabiao Awards in the category of Outstanding Story-based Film. Based on a true touching story of a family battling cancer, the film proved successful with a box office revenue of 1.43 billion yuan ($202.8 million) and great critical acclaim as well. Zhao Yingjun has also been nominated for Outstanding Film Music at the 19th Huabiao Awards for his original music in the film.

Little Canned Men has been nominated for the 19th Huabiao Awards in the category of Outstanding Children's Film. It is the first work from Zheng Yuanjie's popular children's book series to be adapted into a feature film.

The Huabiao Awards are a prestigious government award for Chinese cinema, organized and presented by the National Film Administration. The awards ceremony was held on May 23, serving as a summary and recognition of Chinese film creations over the past four years.
