On May 3, some newborn mandarin ducks were seen catching food following their mother in West Lake, Hangzhou, East China's Zhejiang province. They changed their team patterns from time to time, attracting many tourists.

According to Lu Jianli, a Mandarin duck guard team volunteer, the newborn Mandarin ducks in 2023 are named after the ten sceneries of West Lake.
