On April 15, an international folk badminton exchange competition was held in Hangzhou Danfeng Experimental Primary School, and attracted six teams composed of more than 50 badmintonenthusiastsincluding Hangzhou citizens, overseas Chinese and their relatives, as well as foreign friends.

One team is named as"Ambassadors". In the team, there are the international students of Zhejiang University from Russia, Malaysia and Pakistan. They come from different countries but gather in China, exchanging their own country's culture while learning Chinese culture, just like cultural ambassadors.

Another team is composed of overseas Chinese in India whostayin Hangzhou at present. They use badminton as a medium and often organize activities to enhance friendship.

Although the competition team consists of folk players, its strength cannot be underestimated. The sponsor of the event stated:"The competition is to promote countries' understanding of China and Hangzhou so as to greet Hangzhou Asian Games."
