Hangzhou Volunteer Service Association Inauguration Conference was solemnized on March 16. The conference deliberated and passed Articles of Association of Hangzhou Volunteer Service Association, selected the members, supervisors, chairman, standing vice chairman, vice chairman and secretary general of the first council of the association. 

Hangzhou started early in volunteer services and has achieved remarkable results. Tourists have deeply impressed by West Lake Green Action, Smiling Pavilions, G20 Summit Green Lotus and other volunteer services provided by Hangzhou. In the past three decades, Hangzhou has been the only city that has been honored as “The Happiest City in China” for 16 times, partly due to the city’s implementation of volunteer service spirit. 

As Hangzhou will host the 19th Asian Games and 4th Asian Para Games this year, volunteer services will focus on serving the event. The founding of the association will bring more standardized and professional volunteer services.
