As the competition venue of Rugby Sevens for the upcoming Asian Games, Hangzhou Normal University (Cangqian Campus) offers Rugby class for students to experience the charisma of the sports in advance.
Due to the students’ enthusiasm for the course running high with excessive number of students signing for it, the university had to open more classes. Cao Liangxu, a student of the university, said: “Rugby is really interesting. It requires physical strength as well as brain to play well. The competition venue of the university is built for Asian Games. We shouldn’t miss such a good opportunity.”
In recent years, Hangzhou Normal University has successively offered novel courses, such as rugby, baseball and frisbee, as specialized optional courses and public selective courses. The introduction of the novel sports helps to enhance students’ enthusiasm for the sports and create a good sporting environment in the campus.
