The newly built Hangzhouxi Railway Station is a smart green architecture. Its roof power generating capacity is enough to supply the power necessary for the operation of the whole railway station and can annually save standard coals of over 830 tons and reduce carbon dioxide emission by more than 2,300 tons. It is a successful trial of Hangzhou in building the zero-carbon city.
At Hangzhou 2023 Zero-carbon City Development Summit Forum held in Shangcheng District on March 10, experts discussed how to more effectively reduce carbon emissions by improving the urban planning & layout and the design of micro-circulatory system of the city, such as water drainage, fuel gas and heating power.
Actually, Hangzhou has achieved remarkable results in building a low-carbon city. While pushing forward low energy consumption, zero energy consumption and even positive energy consumption of buildings and residential quarters, Hangzhou have successively launched zero-carbon Asian Games and zero-carbon intelligent industrial park and put green and low-carbon concepts into practice based on digital empowerment and through reduction of pollution and carbon emission.
