The Waking of Insects, one of the 24 solar terms in Chinese lunar calendar, fell on March 6 this year, indicating that everything will burst with energy in the following month. Tea leaves begin to sprout at hilltop tea plantations in Wengjiashan Village of Xihu Sub-district in the West Lake Scenic Area, Hangzhou. 

At the tea plantations, guests and tea planters carried out the folk activity and prayed for good fortune by shouting: “Sprout, tea! Sprout, tea! Sprout, tea!” They expressed their hope for a good harvest of Longjing tea in the new year. 

Then, they inspected the digital plantation sprinkling irrigation system and the tea market to be launched at Wengjiashan Village, and held a symposium to discuss tea culture, tea technology and tea industry at the Village Committee Office.
