Supplementary Volunteer Recruitment for Hangzhou Asian (Para) Games are now in full swing in colleges and universities in Hangzhou. The versatile students are actively embracing the upcoming Asian Games with full enthusiasm.
Students who come from different regions and even foreign countries show enthusiasm for the voluntary services during the recruitment for the supplementary volunteer. An Indian student studying in Zhejiang University said: “I major in clinical medicine. I think I may serve the Asian Games with my expertise.” To her, the voluntary service is a responsibility rather than a burden. She hoped that she was able to provide voluntary services for tourists in Hangzhou. Lou Zhiyun, a student of Zhejiang Gongshang University and a retired college soldier, has ever executed tasks in flood control & disaster relief and guard security. “I want to put the good habit and conducts I gained in military army into voluntary services to better serve the Asian Games,” he said.
The members of school sports teams are also eager to participate in the pageant in Hangzhou. Several students in college handball uniform are especially eye-catching among the applicants. It turns out that they are from Zhejiang Gongshang University. As the cultural and sports centre of the university will be the competition venue for the handball event of Hangzhou Asian Games, the members of the women’s handball team of the university signed up for the recruitment with a hope of serving the Asian Games as volunteers for competition operation.
Among the interviewees, many are volunteers of Beijing Winter Olympic Games with impressive volunteer experience and could speak fluent foreign languages. Zhao Hongyan, one of them, confesses, “If I can be selected a volunteer for Hangzhou Asian Games, I will serve the Asian Games with greater passion than I did for Beijing 2022.”
