Spring is the high season for learning driving. Different from previous years, there are three “robot coach” pilot driving schools in Hangzhou this year. The robot coach has become a new choice for learning driving and has gained increasing popularity among learners.

Completing a series of operation as instructed by robot coaches is less stressful for the learners and robot coaches make practicing time more flexible.

Besides, as there are specialized training courts and the vehicles have complete pre-warning functions, robot coaching is safer than imaged, and has been well recognized by many learners. Interestingly, the first-time pass rate for Subject II under robot coaching pattern is up to 81.7%, 10% higher than the average level of Hangzhou.

However, robot coaching is only applicable to Subject II (theory learning stage) at present, not suitable for Subject III (road driving). Real coaches are still necessary for road driving lessons. Obviously, robot coaching is an attempt of digital reform. Whether it can be popularized or not is yet to be proved.
