Metro project (Phase IV) on schedule

Hangzhou metro stations were being crowed with passengers during the evening peak at around 6:00 pm yesterday, a scene that used to be familiar to many citizens. 

As employees of various trades were successively getting back to work after the Spring Festival, the passenger flow of metro stations kept surging during morning and evening rush hours. The registered passenger flow reached 3,439,000, 3,453,000, 3,460,000, 3,360,000 and 3,885,000 person-times on February 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 respectively, of which, the passenger flow on February 10 refreshed the record for single-day passenger flow on Friday, with year-on-year increase of 178.3%. According to some experts, Hangzhou metro passenger flow is expected to rise to a new high in the near future with returned college students and fine weather on the way. 

In 2022, Hangzhou realized interconnection of all metro lines of the first three phases. The project (Phase IV) was officially announced in last November and the construction would be commenced successively this year. The rail transit network with a total length of 669 km will take shape upon completion of the project (Phase IV).
