Located in Xihu District of Hangzhou, Longwu Tea Town has been honored as one of the first 14 "Foreign Exchange Sites of Hangzhou for the New Era" by the Foreign Affairs Office of Hangzhou Municipal People's Government.
Longwu Tea Town abounds in tea and has been hailed as "Thousand-year Tea Town". Approximately 70% of West Lake Longjing tea is produced here. As the largest production area of West Lake Longjing tea, Longwu has been known as the "tea land producing ten thousand piculs of tea leaves". The honorary title of "foreign exchange site of Hangzhou for new era" indicates that the tea town not only has tea culture that is extremely worthwhile of publicity, but also owns foreign exchange function.
After it obtains the title, the government will also participate in the construction and verification of foreign-oriented publicity work. Availing the opportunity of upcoming Asian Games, the West Lake will make its due contribution to building "an important window" for Hangzhou and building Hangzhou into a world-class modern international socialism metropolis.
