On December 1-19, Hangzhou coordinated multiple regions in Zhejiang Province to hold various activities to celebrate the inclusion of "traditional tea processing techniques and associated social practice in China" in the UNESCO's representative list of intangible cultural heritages of humanity.

Hangzhou launched Tea Protection Forum to carry out dialogues and exchanges from multiple dimensions, such as intangible cultural heritages protection and commercial exploitation, cultivation of inheritors for intangible cultural heritages, female role in the inheritance of intangible cultural heritage, tea and culture identification, and overseas propaganda and sharing of tea culture.

Activities were held in schools, enterprises, communities, scenic areas and families to make the public have zero-distance experience of intangible cultural heritages. In addition, tea culture fairs and themed shopping festivals displayed and sold tea products, tea refreshments, tea folklore and creative tea products involved in 44 sub-items of the heritage.

The various celebrations enable the public to approach tea culture, have a better knowledge of tea processing techniques and thus realize innovation and inheritance of traditional culture.
