On the evening of November 29, UNESCO approved “Chinese traditional tea-making technique and relevant folklore” applied by China to be included in the Representative List of UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritages of Humanity. Thereinto, two sub-items, such as green-tea making technique (West Lake Longjing Tea) and Jingshan Tea Banquet, are from Hangzhou. As one of China’s top ten famous teas, West Lake Longjing Tea enjoys a global reputation and has always been a national gift for foreign friends. Originated from the unique etiquette and folklore of Zen tea meeting in ancient China, Jingshan Tea Banquet has a history of more than 1,200 years and is the origin of Japanese Sado. With two additional intangible culture heritages, Hangzhou, a city with a long history and splendid culture, will unleash new energy, vitality and glamour.
