Hangzhou Marathon announced on September 28 that this year’s marathon race was to be held on November 20. Due to pandemic outbreak, last year’s marathon was held online. Now that it is coming back to reality, the real marathon will not only draw extensive participation by citizens, but also promote Hangzhou Asian Games and improve Hangzhou’s international reputation. 

This year’s race includes marathon, half marathon, healthy run, couple run and family run, and all start from Huanglong Sports Centre. The marathon will finish at Hangzhou Olympic Sports Centre Stadium. The half marathon will end at Hangzhou Civic Square. The finish of healthy run and family run will be set at the west track of Huanglong Sports Centre, while the finish of couple run will be set at the scenic spot of “Autumn Moon over the Calm Lake”. The participants who had joined last year’s marathon are also qualified for this year’s event. Except for a few who withdraw from the race, this year’s marathon line-up is almost the same as that of the previous year. 

Availing the opportunity of the upcoming Hangzhou Asian Games, the sponsor of the race will explore the best balance between urban culture and sports event to provide a characteristic and meaningful marathon race for the runners and participants.
