The main section of Hangzhou-Jinhua-Quzhou Expressway Reconstruction & Extension Project (Phase II) was open to traffic right before the Mid-autumn Festival, so that drivers could enjoy the over-290km-long eight-lane expressway from Hangzhou to the boundary of Zhejiang and Jiangxi during the festival. 

As the first eight-lane expressway running through Zhejiang Province, the project will not only greatly support and improve the comprehensive transportation system within Zhejiang Province, but also expand and strengthen the aggregation and radiation of urban clusters in the Yangtze River Delta. Besides, it plays a significant role in boosting the innovative development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt and bringing along the development of Central and Western China, according to the person in charge of the project headquarters. 

During the reconstruction, the project took the scheme for optimizing local road network into consideration to promote local development and facilitate the life, travel, farming of people and the road expansion for people in the areas along the expressway. It is a good reference for the future reconstruction projects.
