Zhejiang Haixi Roller Skating Open Championships 2022, one of series events held in support of 26 counties in mountainous regions in Zhejiang Province, was held in Cangnan County, Wenzhou, Zhejiang on September 9-11. The event involves freestyle skating and speed track, and has attracted more than 300 participants from 38 teams through the province.

As one of the competition events of Hangzhou Asian Games, roller skating has been popular among Chinese teenagers for nearly two decades since it became an official sport of the Asian Games Guangzhou 2010. 

As one of the counties with remarkable results in sports reform, Cangnan, the venue for the Championships, has obtained six gold medals, one silver medal and five bronze medals in the National Games, and has trained many outstanding athletes, including Zhang Yuning as a member of Chinese Men’s Football Team, Wu Qian as a member of Chinese Men’s Basketball Team, and Chen Chen as a girl of Zhejiang Provincial Go Team. 

In the future, Cangnan will continue to promote the sports brand that is based on the mountain and sea resources and is characterized by leisure sports, and will put more efforts to ensure all-round development of national fitness, competitive sports and sports industry.
